Discover the Bob Boyer: His Life's Work Online Exhibition Today

The MacKenzie Art Gallery and the Virtual Museum of Canada launch a new virtual exhibition!

In 2008, the MacKenzie Art Gallery, in collaboration with the Canadian Museum of Civilization, organized Bob Boyer: His Life’s Work, the first major retrospective of Bob Boyer (1968-2004), a nationally and internationally renowned artist, art historian, curator and educator. Boyer’s influence is far-reaching and interwoven among the communities of art, education and culture. The exhibition is a celebration of the art, life and critical contribution of this influential artist. Guest curated by Lee-Ann Martin, the exhibition was on view at the MacKenzie from September 20, 2008 through January 18, 2009 and is currently on tour.

Today, the MacKenzie Art Gallery is pleased to launch the virtual exhibition of Bob Boyer: His Life’s Work. This online exhibit was developed in partnership with the Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC), an initiative of the Department of Canadian Heritage. Visitors will be able to access the virtual exhibition online, free of charge, for a period of five years. This virtual exhibition allows people from across the country and the world to discover and interact with the work of Saskatchewan artist Bob Boyer, a leader among contemporary Aboriginal artists in Canada. The site is available in both English and French.

Visitors are able to access the virtual exhibition of Bob Boyer: His Life’s Work by going to www.virtualmuseum.ca/Exhibitions/BobBoyer

The Virtual Museum of Canada brings together the riches of Canada’s museum collections to create one endless source of discovery. It’s a unique interactive space full of thought-provoking and instructive content. It’s your window on museum news and your reference guide for planning your next outing. The Virtual Museum of Canada is the result of a close partnership between Canada’s museum community and the department of Canadian Heritage.
