From Where I Stand: Contemporary Landscapes by Canadian Artists

Organized by the MacKenzie Art Gallery with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, Saskatchewan Arts Board and City of Regina Arts Commission.

From Where I Stand features landscape paintings, drawings and prints recently acquired by the MacKenzie Art Gallery.

Images of the land are extremely malleable; they can reveal nature to be vast or intimate, universal or personal, timeless or ever-changing. This exhibition examines how landscape art has evolved in the past fifty years and explores the various ways that contemporary artists use representations of the land to speak to a wide variety of issues: political, social, spiritual, environmental, regional or purely aesthetical.

The artists in the exhibition are: Richard Gorenko, Greg Hardy, Wanda Koop, Landon Mackenzie, Medrie MacPhee, Grant McConnell, Gordon Smith, Anthony Thorn, and Martha Townsend.
