Art in Bloom Volunteers Needed

The MacKenzie Art Gallery and MacKenzie Gallery Volunteers are pleased to host the Art in Bloom Lunch and Fashion Show on May 10th and 11th, 2012 offering a unique dining experience with “tablescapes” (table settings) created by individuals and businesses from the community. In addition to the Lunch and Fashion Show, the Art in Bloom exhibition will be on view from April 21 to August 19, 2012 at the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Works of art from the MacKenzie’s permanent collection will inspire ten floral interpretations which will be on display during the Art in Bloom event on May 10th and 11th. This event is an exciting opportunity for visitors to engage with works of art in a unique way.

As a biannual fundraising event, the proceeds from Art in Bloom directly support the exhibitions and programs of the MacKenzie Art Gallery. This year Art in Bloom is proudly sponsored by SaskPower.

Volunteers are needed to join the organizing committee to ensure the success of this event. Particularly we are looking for volunteers who are interested in assisting with coordinating the fashion show, securing interpretation sponsors, organizing and selling tickets, and assisting with the event on one or both days of the event.

If you are able to help make this event a success, please contact one of the Art in Bloom's Co-Chairs, Rani Bilkhu or Thelfa Yee-Toi, through the MacKenzie Gallery Volunteers' Office at 584-4257 or volunteers@mackenzieartgallery.ca.

Would you like to make a creative contribution?

Community members are invited to design tablescapes for the Lunch and Fashion Show or do floral interpretations of the artwork in the Art in Bloom exhibition. To make a creative contribution contact Carly by February 1 at 584-4257 or volunteers@mackenziartgallery.ca

Even if you can't volunteer for the event, please don't forget to mark your calendar to attend. Tickets for either day go on sale April 3 in the Gallery Shop.
